A 3 day jungle camping tour in Iquitos Peru offers a deeper Amazon experience, combining river travel, jungle exploration, and multiple days of immersion in the rainforest. This format allows you to move beyond entry-level exposure and begin accessing more active and remote areas of the ecosystem.
Located in the Peruvian Amazon, Iquitos provides direct access to rivers, tributaries, and dense jungle environments where camping creates a continuous connection to nature. This experience is ideal for travelers looking for a more complete and immersive introduction to the Amazon.
Your journey begins in Iquitos, where you’ll head straight into the Amazon by boat. As you travel along the river, the environment shifts quickly—dense rainforest, wildlife along the banks, and your first chance to spot pink river dolphins.
The day continues with hands-on activities, including a visit to Monkey Island and time on the river observing the ecosystem up close. After sunset, you’ll head out on a nocturnal jungle hike, where the rainforest comes alive with insects, amphibians, and nocturnal wildlife.
Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest and head out early, when the jungle is most active. You’ll explore by boat and canoe through tributaries, spotting birds, monkeys, and other wildlife along the way.
Throughout the day, you’ll take part in classic Amazon experiences—piranha fishing, exploring unique plant life like the massive Victoria Regia, and navigating deeper into the jungle on foot.
As night falls, you’ll head out for a caiman spotting excursion along the riverbanks, one of the most memorable and authentic Amazon activities.
Your final day begins with one last jungle hike, where your guide will take you deeper into the rainforest to experience its structure, plant life, and wildlife one last time.
You’ll also visit a local Amazonian community, gaining insight into how people live and adapt in this environment—adding a cultural layer to the experience.
From there, you’ll begin the journey back to Iquitos by boat, leaving the jungle behind—but with a real understanding of what it’s like to experience it firsthand.
