A 3-day lodge and camping tour in Iquitos, Peru, combines the comfort of an eco-lodge with the immersive experience of camping in the jungle. Your 3 day Amazon lodge and camping tour begins with pickup in Iquitos and transfer to the river port, where you will board a boat heading into the Amazon rainforest. As you travel along the river, you may observe birds, river life, and, occasionally, pink river dolphins.
Upon arrival at the jungle lodge, you will settle into your accommodations and begin your first guided activities, including jungle walks and wildlife observation. The lodge provides a comfortable base with meals and structured excursions. In the evening, you will participate in a night excursion to observe nocturnal wildlife and experience the Amazon after dark.
The second day marks the transition from lodge comfort to deeper jungle immersion. After morning activities and breakfast at the lodge, you will travel further into more remote areas of the rainforest.
Here, you will set up a jungle camp and begin a more immersive experience that includes extended jungle trekking, canoe or river exploration, and wildlife observation. Activities such as piranha fishing, birdwatching, and exploration of forest ecosystems may be included.
Camping allows for continuous exposure to the environment, increasing the chances of wildlife encounters and providing a deeper connection to the Amazon.
On the final day, you will wake up in the jungle and take part in a morning excursion, one of the best times to observe wildlife activity. After breakfast, you will begin the return journey by boat toward Iquitos.
During the return, there may be additional opportunities to observe wildlife or explore surrounding areas. The tour concludes with transfer back to your hotel or the airport in Iquitos.
