The 4-day lodge and camping tour in Iquitos is designed to offer a gradual and more in-depth experience in the Amazon. Unlike shorter programs, this itinerary provides more time to explore and access different areas of the rainforest, combining structured lodge-based activities with the direct experience of camping in the jungle.
The experience begins at the Maniti Eco Lodge, where travelers enjoy a comfortable base for guided jungle walks, river excursions, and wildlife observation. This setting provides a gradual introduction to the Amazon ecosystem, allowing guests to adapt before continuing into more remote areas.
Your 4 day Amazon lodge and camping tour begins in Iquitos with transfer to the river port and navigation along the Amazon River. As you travel into the rainforest, wildlife sightings begin immediately, including birds and the possibility of spotting pink river dolphins.
Upon arrival at the jungle lodge, you will settle into your accommodations and begin guided activities such as jungle walks and river exploration. In the evening, a night excursion introduces you to nocturnal wildlife, offering your first immersive experience in the Amazon.
The second day focuses on exploring river systems and surrounding ecosystems. You will travel by boat and canoe through tributaries, observing monkeys, birds, and plant life along the riverbanks.
Activities include piranha fishing and exploration of unique Amazon flora. At night, you will participate in a caiman spotting excursion, one of the most iconic Amazon experiences, scanning the riverbanks for wildlife in the dark.
The third day transitions into a more immersive phase as you move deeper into the rainforest. You will trek into more remote jungle areas, where the environment becomes less structured and more connected to the natural rhythm of the Amazon.
A highlight of this day is the overnight camping experience at a canopy observation tower (Palo Alto), providing a unique elevated perspective over the rainforest. This location allows for increased wildlife observation and a deeper connection to the jungle environment.
The final day begins with an early morning excursion, one of the best times to observe wildlife activity. After breakfast, you will begin your return journey by boat along the river, with additional opportunities to observe the surrounding ecosystem.
The tour concludes with transfer back to Iquitos, completing a balanced and immersive Amazon experience.
