Your 6 day Amazon lodge and camping tour begins in Iquitos with transfer to the river port and navigation along the Amazon River. Wildlife sightings often begin immediately, including birds and occasional pink river dolphins. You will visit areas such as Monkey Island and settle into your jungle lodge before beginning your first guided jungle exploration and night excursion.
The second day focuses on river systems and surrounding ecosystems. You will explore lagoons, observe aquatic life, and participate in activities such as piranha fishing. As night falls, a caiman spotting excursion introduces you to nocturnal wildlife along the riverbanks.
On the third day, the experience shifts into deeper immersion. You will trek into remote rainforest areas and move toward a canopy observation tower (such as Mirador Palo Alto), where you will spend the night surrounded by the sounds of the jungle from an elevated perspective.
After the canopy experience, you will continue exploring deeper forest environments while transitioning back toward lodge zones. Activities include jungle trekking, wildlife observation, and visits to local Amazonian communities, providing cultural insight into life in the rainforest.
With additional time in the Amazon, this day allows for more consistent wildlife encounters and deeper exploration of lagoons, trails, and river systems. The extended duration enhances your understanding of the ecosystem and increases the chances of spotting a wider range of species.
The final day begins with an early morning excursion, one of the best times for wildlife activity. After breakfast, you will return by boat to Iquitos, concluding a fully immersive Amazon experience with extended time in the rainforest.
