Departing from Iquitos, the journey moves through river systems and into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, where extended time creates a stronger connection to the environment. This experience is ideal for travelers looking to go beyond a basic introduction and fully engage with the reserve.
Your journey begins in Iquitos with a ground transfer to Nauta, followed by a boat ride into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
As you enter protected jungle zones, wildlife sightings begin—river birds, monkeys, and your first chance to spot pink river dolphins.
You’ll explore the area by boat and on foot, learning how to read the rainforest and understand the ecosystem.
In the evening, you’ll head out for a night excursion, where the jungle becomes active with nocturnal wildlife.
You’ll start early, when the jungle is most active.
The day is spent navigating rivers and lagoons by boat or canoe, with opportunities to observe wildlife, fish for piranha, and explore flooded forest environments.
With more time in the field, your guide can adjust locations and timing to increase wildlife encounters and deepen the experience.
This is the core day—where everything comes together.
Your final morning includes one last excursion—either wildlife observation or a short jungle trek.

Afterward, you’ll begin the return journey by boat and vehicle back to Iquitos—closing out a more complete Amazon experience.
We require a 50% deposit to hold your reservation that can be made with any major credit card, when we receive your payment we will send you a payment confirmation via email. The remaining balance will be due at the time of (or before) your arrival to Iquitos.
