A 6 day Pacaya Samiria tour in Peru is designed as an extended Amazon expedition inside one of the most protected and biodiverse reserves in the region. With multiple days of exploration and continuous camping, this experience provides deeper access to remote areas where wildlife activity is more consistent and the environment remains largely untouched.
Departing from Iquitos, the journey follows the Amazon River into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, where extended time in the field allows for a more complete and immersive connection to the rainforest. This tour is ideal for travelers seeking a high-level and in-depth Amazon experience.
Your journey begins in Iquitos with a ground transfer to Nauta, followed by a boat ride into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
As you enter protected zones, wildlife sightings begin—river birds, monkeys, and pink river dolphins.
You’ll explore by boat and on foot before setting up camp in the jungle. A nighttime excursion introduces you to the rainforest after dark.
An early start puts you on the water during peak activity.
You’ll navigate deeper into the reserve by boat and canoe, exploring lagoons and riverbanks while observing wildlife and trying traditional piranha fishing.
Encounters become more consistent as you move further into remote areas.
With more time in the field, you push deeper into less disturbed zones.
You’ll combine jungle trekking, wildlife observation, and plant education—learning how to read the environment and understand the ecosystem on a deeper level.
This phase expands your range even further.
You’ll explore additional lagoons, flooded forests, and remote waterways—areas with high biodiversity and strong wildlife activity.
The experience becomes more fluid and adaptive based on conditions and sightings.
By now, everything comes together—movement, access, and understanding.
You may visit a local Amazonian community, gaining insight into how people live and adapt within the reserve, while continuing wildlife exploration throughout the day.
This is often one of the most complete and rewarding days of the trip.
Your final morning includes one last jungle excursion—wildlife observation or a short trek.
Afterward, you’ll begin the return journey by boat and vehicle back to Iquitos, transitioning out of the rainforest after six full days inside the reserve.
We require a 50% deposit to hold your reservation that can be made with any major credit card, when we receive your payment we will send you a payment confirmation via email. The remaining balance will be due at the time of (or before) your arrival to Iquitos.
