7-Day | Pacaya Samiria Survivor

From $1225 USD

A 7 day Pacaya Samiria tour in Peru is the most complete way to explore one of the Amazon’s largest and most protected reserves. With extended time in the field and continuous camping, this experience allows for maximum immersion in remote rainforest environments where wildlife activity is high and the ecosystem remains largely untouched.

Departing from Iquitos, the journey moves through the Amazon River into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, where multiple days of exploration create a sustained connection to the environment. This tour is ideal for travelers seeking the most in-depth and immersive Amazon experience available.

Day 1: Transfer to Pacaya Samiria & Jungle Entry

Your journey begins in Iquitos with a ground transfer to Nauta, followed by a boat ride deep into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

As you enter protected zones, wildlife sightings begin—river birds, monkeys, and pink river dolphins.

You’ll explore by boat and on foot before setting up camp in the jungle. A nighttime excursion introduces you to the rainforest after dark.

Day 2: River Exploration, Wildlife & Fishing

An early start puts you on the water during peak activity.

You’ll navigate deeper into the reserve by boat and canoe, exploring lagoons and riverbanks while observing wildlife and trying traditional piranha fishing.

Encounters become more consistent as you move further into remote areas.

Day 3: Deeper Jungle Access & Ecosystem Understanding

With more time in the field, you push deeper into less disturbed zones.

You’ll combine jungle trekking, wildlife observation, and plant education—learning how to read and understand the environment.

Day 4: Remote Zones, Lagoons & Exploration

Your range expands further into untouched areas.

You’ll explore flooded forests, lagoons, and narrow waterways known for high biodiversity and strong wildlife activity.

Day 5: Full Immersion & Cultural Insight

By now, everything comes together—movement, access, and understanding.

You may visit a local Amazonian community, gaining insight into how people live and adapt within the reserve, while continuing exploration throughout the day.

Day 6: Extended Range & Peak Experience

With a full week available, you’ll push even deeper into remote zones—areas rarely reached on shorter trips.

This is often one of the most complete and rewarding days, where experience, access, and timing align.

Day 7: Final Exploration & Return to Iquitos

Your final morning includes one last jungle excursion—wildlife observation or a short trek.

Afterward, you’ll begin the return journey by boat and vehicle back to Iquitos, transitioning out of the rainforest after seven full days inside the reserve.
